History of Los Cristianos

From a small fishing village in the middle of nowhere, Los Cristianos has grown during four decades to become one of the most well-liked tourist resorts in the Canary Islands. It is centred around a bustling port from where ferries, fishing boats, yachts and excursion vessels come and go each day. The actual resort itself has retained some of the original architecture in the centre, around the old church square. Property in Los Cristianos ranges from more aged blocks of apartments having few amenities, on to newer luxury apartments and homes on developments which feature private pools, restaurants, stores and reception areas. The more aged areas of town are generally covered with local inhabitants, and they are in the middle of town. Newer constructions surround this old fashioned interior, and as a guide, the further away from the centre, the more newly built is the complex. There are some places still to become developed along side entry to the freeway. Los Cristianos Travel

Los Cristianos can be found just fifteen Kilometers to the west of the south airport Reina Sofia, with a straight motorway link along the TF-1. Ferries from the port make up the primary link with the island of La Gomera, several kilometres off the coast. The main coach terminal is a convenient hub to reach towns throughout the rest of the island and taxi cabs are extremely easy to find.
